The ISR5000 is a loop-powered isolator for the electrical isolation of current signals (with auxiliary supply) in industrial applications. Its function is to provide an electrically isolated 4-20 mA output signal in response to non-isolated 4-20 analog input and allows the isolation between transmitters, sensors, actuators etc. and the signal receivers.
In control and measurement systems there are several problems that are likely to occur between these devices, such as ground loop problems, floating voltage problems, current loop problems, common mode noise or voltage spikes. By incorporating the appropriate isolation between the signals, these problems can be eliminated.
